Festival Co-Director Sarah Meikle says the response has been overwhelming.

“Peoples’ enthusiasm and support for Visa Wellington On a Plate really is simply phenomenal. While we know some customers have been disappointed to miss out on specific events, there’s still plenty available and of course 102 menus to try as part of DINE Wellington.”

Seven DINE Wellington restaurants were last week named in the Cuisine Supreme Restaurant of the Year top 50 finalists: Arbitrageur, Capitol, Hippopotamus, Martin Bosley’s, Ortega Fish Shack & Bar, The Larder and The White House Restaurant.

The Visa Wellington On a Plate 2011 festival menu includes 102 DINE Wellington eateries, 50 Burger Wellington entries and 81 events, including Wellington Fisher & Paykel MasterClass – a day programme that will see foodies discover the kitchen secrets of culinary greats such as Desmond Harris, Alexa Johnston, Al Brown, Martin Bosley, ‘the Jamie Oliver of the Far East’, Chef Wan and MasterChef Australia star Justin North.
