All applications must be made online at www.visawellingtononaplate.com

“This year we're making the application process faster and easier for people who have previously taken part in DINE; they'll be sent a password so they can log into a personalised application form which is pre-populated with all their information from 2010,” says Anna Nielson Festival Co director.

Visa Wellington On a Plate 2011 will run for 17 days from 5 -21 August 2011. Event numbers will be capped at around 75, says Sarah Meikle, the Festival Co-Director responsible for consumer marketing.

“Thanks to phenomenal enthusiasm from industry and consumers, Visa Wellington On a Plate has enjoyed incredibly quick growth. It’s as big as we want to be right now; this year the focus is on really building the experience.

“We’re calling on the region’s restaurants and event organisers to be really original with their ideas and their menus. This festival is not just about food and beverage, it’s about the Wellington region – so all DINE Wellington menus, Burger Wellington entries and events must include regional food and beverages. A list of over 250 suppliers can be found on our website.”

“This year we are offering up an entree to the main course especially for our food industry with an industry week that will run from the 1st to the 4th August,” says  Anna Nielson. “The region’s producers and restaurants will have an opportunity to sample each other’s wares, find out about  industry developments and connect to new suppliers. All you have to do is register your interest in the ‘additional information’ section of the application form.”

Successful applicants will be notified by March 25 2011. The 2011 festival programme, along with online ticket sales, will launch on Wednesday 15 June.
