What is a Media Hook?

Media coverage is a great way to get profile for your DINE menu or festival event. We will be prepping a wee media kit with tips and advice for all VWOAP participants, and the more we know about you and what you have planned the better we can integrate your story into our promotion of the festival. We call this information Media Hooks because hopefully it will hook the media into writing about you and your restaurant or Event.

Examples of Media Hooks:

What makes you and your event interesting or different?  For example, are you breaking a world record?  Have you invented something new?

What do you tell your friends and family about your business and plans around the dinner table?

What food themes are you working to?

What international food trends have you been inspired by or are part of?

What awards have you won?

Do you staff have interesting backgrounds? For example, is your chef a Kung Fu master?

What new local products have you found or are using?

What unusual products are you using?

Where are key people involved in your restaurant or event from?  What iconic or popular places have they worked in before?

What is interesting about your venue? Is there a local legend about it? What’s the venue’s background?  

Any there any VIPs involved? (A VIP could be the major, a celebrity or even the local rugby football team)
