Before Visa Wellington On a Plate officially kicks off on 5 August and the hospitality industry are run off their feet serving the hungry mouths of dedicated festival followers two events are happening in Wellington specifically for those in the industry. These events are a great chance to network and celebrate the wonderful industry that makes Wellington the Cuisine Capital that it is!
The Capital Awards
The Capital Awards are the Wellington region’s premier hospitality awards. They celebrate excellence and what makes Wellington a stand-out hospitality city; from the behind-the-scenes kitchen teams and baristas, through to outstanding restaurant and the pinnacle award – outstanding contribution to Wellington hospitality.Tickets for the 2011 Capital Awards cost $45 will be available from 1 July 2011. Be quick, numbers are limited and first in - first served.

Where: Awards Ceremony will be held at Shed 11, New Zealand Portrait Gallery. Awards Celebration will follow at Shed 13, Mojo Coffee Roastery on Customhouse Quay.

Event Details: The awards ceremony will celebrate the stars of Wellington hospitality in style. The After- Party will carry the celebrations on into the night with live music and substantial drinks and nibbles provided.

How well do your staff know their vino? Now's their chance to pit themselves against other teams in Wellington and see who knows the most and comes out on top!
