DINE Wellington Selection Criteria

Participation in DINE Wellington is an APPLICATION process. That means, that you aren’t automatically accepted. It’s not that tough though…we just need to make sure that we are offering consumers, the best of the best! In addition to providing the nuts and bolts information about your restaurant and your menu, your business must adhere to the following selection criteria:

  • You must have a current liquor license
  • You must offer the DINE Wellington menu for all your restaurant operating hours during the period 10-26 August 2012 (NOTE: this INCLUDES weekends)
  • VWOAP strongly endorses the use of local producers/suppliers in the creation of your menu
  • You must have actively registered your business on www.MenuMania.co.nz, that is:
    • You must have ‘claimed’ your restaurant listing
    • You must have updated your restaurant information by midnight on Tuesday, 21 February 2012

PLEASE NOTE: Only online applications for DINE Wellington will be accepted.

Using Wellington region producers and suppliers in the creation of your menus.

Memorandum of Understanding

All participants in VWOAP activities are required to sign a Memorandum of Understanding between themselves and the organisers of the VWOAP Festival acknowledging the shared and individual responsibilities to ensure the successful delivery of the Festival. Specifically, this sets out the requirement by participating restaurants in DINE Wellington 2012 to:

  • Return the signed Memorandum of Understanding, payment of your participation fee and $100 restaurant voucher NO LATER than 30 March 2012.
  • Agree to format their DINE Wellington menu to consumers in the format set out in the VWOAP programme guide (i.e. Starter / Main Course / Lunch)
  • Inform the Festival Committee on each occasion where practical when your restaurant is fully booked during the Festival Period to enable the Festival Committee to note this on the VWOAP 2012 website and social media channels
  • Prominently display in the restaurant the VWOAP 2012 collateral (posters, window sticker and booklet), from the date of receipt of the collateral until the completion of the Festival period
  • Actively encourage diners to use their VISA card when paying for their DINE Wellington menu and providing them with the VISA promotional collateral relevant to this.
  • Ensure that customers are aware of the Partner’s participation in VWOAP 2012 (i.e. all customers must be offered the DINE Wellington menu, along with your usual à la carte menu)
  • Comply with all administrative requirements of the Festival Committee in a timely manner
  • Complete the VWOAP 2012 Survey and send it to Festival Committee by the deadline specified in the Survey email
  • Agreement with the DINE Wellington Cancellation Policy (as set out below)

Failure to meet these conditions will result in removal from the 2012 Festival Programme and your restaurant will not be permitted to participate in the following year’s Festival.

DINE Wellington Cancellation Policy

In the unlikely event that you need to withdraw your participation from the DINE Wellington programme, you need to inform the VWOAP Festival management as soon as possible.

If you withdraw before 30 March 2012, there will be no charge to you. After 30 March, we are in production and we will have already made an investment to format your information in the Programme Guide and on VisaWellingtonOnaPlate.com. As a result, you will be liable for your full registration fee (minus your restaurant voucher) if you choose to withdraw from the Festival.

In addition, you will be required to inform any customers holding bookings for your DINE Wellington offer. Any complaints received by the VWOAP management relating to your restaurant not fulfilling customer bookings will be directed to you.

What will it cost?

The cost is the same as in 2011.

  • To be fair to all restaurants and cafes taking part, the costing formula is based on restaurant capacity and how many of the 17 days of the Festival period (10-26 August) you will be open.

  • The Formula:
       - 55c (excluding GST) per seat, per day
(NB: there is a cap of $1,000 per restaurant)
  • For example:  40 seats x 17 days x 55 cents = $374 (excl. GST)
                             90 seats x 17 days x 55 cents = $841.50 (excl GST)
  • In addition, you are reqiured to provide a $100 meal voucher valid until 01 August 2013 to be used by the organisers to promote the Festival in competitions to public etc.

**Please Note: The DINE Wellington 2012 participation fees, signed Memorandum of Understanding and $100 meal voucher are due no later than FRIDAY 30 MARCH. Any restaurant that does not provide their payment and $100 restaurant voucher by this date will automatically be removed from the DINE Wellington 2012 programme, WITHOUT EXCEPTION.
